Composer's Notes

For Mom: A Chaconne was originally written for solo piano in 2008, recorded, and given as a Christmas gift to my mother. I transcribed the piece for brass quintet early in 2009. The piece was recorded by the Aurora Brass Quintet in July of 2009. After hearing the recording of the arrangement for solo piano, a colleague of mine described the piece as both post-impressionist and neo-classical. I hope you like what you hear. Thanks!
