Composer's Notes

The desert Juniper is one of the gnarliest, obscure, and (in my opinion) beautiful trees in existence. When looking at its base, with all its dry and warped bark, you may be lead to believe that the tree is in fact dead. Your eyes follow along its twisted and wily trunk; it goes this way, then that way. There are knobby, dead-end growths every step of the way. However, at its top, life flourishes. Rich green vegetation sprouts abundantly from its fertile branches.
