When I began working toward completing my undergraduate degree in music at Augsburg College in the fall of 2005, I was informed that I would be required to complete a recital during my senior year. Being a composer as well as a performer, I decided the best option would be to perform music not only written by other composers, but to perform some of my original compositions as well. I completed the first draft of the sonata the summer before my senior year of college. This was the music that was heard at my recital in December of 2007.
