Kate Schumann is a freelance trumpet player and teacher in the Twin Cities. She is studying with David Baldwin at the University of Minnesota, and will graduate with a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance in 2011. She received her B.M. in 2007 from Augsburg College where she studied with Lynn Erickson. Kate plays classical, jazz, pop and folk music. She has played with numerous groups, including the Saint Paul Civic Symphony, the Camp Snoopy Cruisers, VocalEssence and The West Bank Brass. She can be heard Bryan Schumann’s folk CD Everybody Wants to Know (2009).
